Please mind that similar terms are applicable for writing commissions. Contact me in a case of interest, as I am more picky with those, due to the payment not being upfront and the fact that there is a large amount of money and my time involved. I am very likely to decline a writing commission if I do not know you or you have not worked with me before at all. Wait time mentioned below does not apply to writing & journal page commissions. These can take way more time to complete.
I do not work with/may not be good at...
Themes and subjects I am reluctant or uncomfortable with (due to lack of practice, potential triggers, generally not being comfortable with this, et cetera).
However, if you are not sure, please please ASK ME. I can't cover everything and maybe you aren't sure if I am comfortable with drawing something. Always, always ask if anything is unclear or if you aren't sure about something. I am always open to respectful communication.
- NSFW; nudity / sexual themes / suggestive themes / incestual themes / non-consensual themes / zoophilia, pedophilia, etc (underwear is okay, but I may decline if something specific about it makes me uncomfortable), ANYTHING ILLEGAL - drugs (alcohol & cigarettes are exempt from this) - any form of hate art that attacks someone’s person or ideas - abuse, certain mental health conditions (anxiety, depression & eating disorders specifically) & self-harm themes (simply, I will NOT do any form of vent art for you) - Inclusion of these themes in my personal work is not relevant. - heavy armor or mecha, machinery & vehicles - FANART (Unless the creator is allowing such use and the client can provide a valid proof/point me to it; I do not wish to be sued.); fandom related OCs are fine (custom in-game characters are also okay) - problematic ships / pairings : includes abusive relationships, toxic relationships, or characters that are aged up for the sake of the ship looking 'normal'. - any type of art that glorifies mental health issues or conditions - While I can work off real life face claims and such, stylized outcome should always be expected.
This may change depending on what I encounter. Please always feel free to ask if something isn't mentioned or you are not sure.
Cryptids & made up creatures are good, as long as they don't follow the anatomy of an existing animal too closely so that I will be unable to replicate it. I am, however, willing to attempt. Busts of animals are okay with me, I believe I am confident enough; not really with full bodies, though. Similar to it (lack of practice) larger body types may present a challenge (to which I am willing to stand up as long as I am trusted by the client) in drawing them correctly as well. Please always refer to my portfolio to see what I draw the most and how I draw it.
The maximum amount of interacting characters I am confident with in one piece is 2, id est, one extra character. My personal work may include more in one artwork, but I do so scarcely. I'm trying to work on getting more confident with more characters, though.
Small note: I will absolutely draw your dragons from Flight Rising/other such games! I have drawn them very little, but I enjoyed it. I can not advertise of FR because of my portfolio being against their TOS. If you ever commission me for a dragon / dragon gijinka, please only credit the FR account CharlieSpring, do not link to my art profiles or portfolio, as it will get you in trouble and could get you banner from FR.
My forms require visual / written references. Visual references are preferred, even for custom character designs. You can always drop the color palette you want or make a moodboard. Please understand that I may work better with visual references, and will likely ask a lot more questions about visuals if none are provided.
Terms of Service
By commissioning me, the client agrees to my Terms of Service as well as to not violate them in any form. Violation of my ToS will result in a permanent block, as well as informing the artist community of the violation, so other artists do not communicate with the offender. The client will NOT be refunded, nor will they get the commission if it isn’t finished yet.
GENERAL:
I do not offer discounts if they aren't currently in place or mentioned somewhere.
Checking in on the progress is fine. I ask that the customer lets me know if I need to update them on the progress regularly & how often (this is included in my submission form). I generally send updates on: layout/poses, messy sketch, clear sketch & flat colors (not in the case of flats, but I will include a colored sketch), as well as any major edits requested by the customer.
I have the right to decline any commission without any reason given or without a specific reason.
I will not emulate someone else's art style. (Exceptions may apply but generally not for the public.)
Wait time in between providing details & payment and receiving the commission can be anywhere from few hours to five weeks (this depends on communication, time zone differences, my physical capability* & how busy I am at any given moment). I am a student, I do not do commissions full-time. Do not expect me to overly prioritize a commission over my studies. This wait time may be shorter during holidays, but please do not expect me to work more just because I may have more time.
* I deal with with physical difficulties (mostly fatigue but also migraines, Carpal Tunnel Syndrome flare-ups from work and joint pain) from time to time, which, when in effect, require me to work slower than usual or sometimes not at all for a day or two, hence the big difference between minimal and maximal wait time. I will ALWAYS inform the client of delays should they exceed the expected five weeks. PAYMENT & FEES:
Payment options are:
Full payment upfront (required for sketch commissions), any possible fees after finishing & before commission delivery.
Payment after a clean sketch (except for sketch commissions but I still send rougher sketch previews for pose checks!), any possible fees after finishing & before commission delivery.
Half of the payment upfront, rest after sketch phase, any possible fees after finishing & before commission delivery.
Half of the payment after sketch phase, rest & any possible fees after finishing & before commission delivery.
REFUNDS are generally only possible if I am unable to start or have to cancel or postpone my work and the client is not willing to wait when I am able to resume working. Please mind that Paypal takes a pretty big fee from the money I receive. This is NOT in my ability to affect. I will always refund exactly the amount I have received unless the commission had progressed past sketch phase. If that is the case, I will refund half the payment. If the halves aren't equal, I will refund the bigger part.
Personal unforeseen emergencies and events are, however, also subject to a refund if needed.
To avoid additional fees on adjustments, provide me with as many references as possible. Written detail or reference pictures of the desired character, pose, clothing, hairstyle or a specific color palette are all a valid form of reference.
Design related fees: there is an upcharge for generally complex designs, details can be found on my "commissions" page.
Payment via a Paypal invoice is preferred, but if that is not an option, I take payment via Ko-Fi as well.
Payment plans will only be discussed for commissions which total at $150+. Typical expectation/plan will be to pay up within four months from the commission, but depending on the specifics, I am willing to adjust it.
Refund is not applicable if: the client backs out of the commission (unless due to a sudden emergency), the client breaks my ToS, the client has already received the commission and still doesn't like it - this may happen due to poor communication on the client's side. (I will always do my best to deliver exactly what I am paid for, but this requires clear communication of ideas.) I understand that saying "this is wrong" or "this needs to be adjusted" to someone can feel awful, but please know that I will not resent or hate you for correcting me.
I reserve the right to show all progress images with an overlay stating that it is a commission preview, should I feel like it. Furthermore I can provide files with the overlay to the client if they'd like to show the wips off on their social media or share it with friends.
USE:
My commissions are, as any, for PERSONAL use only (id est, you are not allowed to profit off my art). Cropping a signature for the use of a commission as a profile picture or a banner is allowed, however, I would appreciate credit. Certainly do not claim to be the artist or claim someone else to be the original artist. YOU ARE NOT ALLOWED TO USE MY ART IN DEVELOPING A GAME, IF THAT GAME WILL HAVE TO BE PAID FOR. I do not currently offer commercial commissions.
After finishing the commission, I still have full rights to the artwork and can post it, repost it or use it to advertise (on my commission sheet, as an example of commissions done in the past, in my portfolio; all will be posted with a watermark overlay). I ask the customer states that the commission is private, if they do not wish for it to be posted at all - I will respect it, but I need to be informed of it. There is not extra payment or anything, I don't mind it, but I like to post my work, so let me know if you don't want me to.
Printing is by the client allowed, but again only for personal use, id est for hanging, framing, taping it to a wall, putting it up on a cork board, laminating, et cetera. I will not cover printing, laminating or framing costs.
I reserve the right to use/reuse any possible rejected sketches, id est, if I create a pose the customer does not want at all (this can be avoided by providing a lot of references or a detailed description) and wants me to start again, I may keep the sketch and may use it later. I will usually ask about it.
Editing of the commission is not generally allowed, no color adjustments. If a specific color scheme is required, I ask the customer lets me know upon commissioning me, no extra payment. I can also provide different color versions - free of charge if they are not too tricky to make. What is allowed: cropping, overlaying a layer/watermark over the png file (I can provide my own watermarked version if desired.)

By agreeing to my terms of service, you agree that any and all commissions in any stage of completion will NOT be used in any and all forms of NFT, blockchain or cryptocurrency, or any technology related to the mentioned - past, present or future. All commissions are, by default, for personal use only. I do not give the consent for my work to be used in training AI.Nobody is allowed to ask AI to replicate my style. Please inform me if you notice something like this has occurred. If it is discovered that my personal or commissioned work, past, present or future, is used in the NFT, cryptocurrency, AI or other similar market or for any other form of profit, the individual or company concerned shall: - be permanently and without change banned from my services and other artists will be warned about them - If the art they are using was commissioned, they will have their commission removed from any sites in the case that the commission has been posted on any social site or art hosting site. The pose may be reused for personal work. THE CLIENT WILL NOT BE REFUNDED.
